What's New This Year

Call for Papers Notifications Sent July 16

The 2024 Call for Papers notifications of acceptance/non-acceptance were sent to all authors listed on all proposals on Tuesday, July 16. Some authors have reported that they have not received their notifications, or that their notification has unusual formatting (i.e., strikethrough or altered font). This is due to increased email security, email settings, antivirus software, and spam filtering at institutions and organizations. We apologize for the confusion and are working on ways to improve communications in the future.

As a reminder, copies of all notifications are posted in the Author/Presenter Management Center in the Call for Papers system, which you may check at any time. Your unique link to the Management Center was sent in the Disclosure email you received earlier this year. Once you log into the Author/Presenter Management Center, select the blue “View My Email Notifications” button and to view the list of notifications that have been sent to you. (If you are a submitter only and NOT an author listed on the proposal, you will need to log back into the Call for Papers submission website to view any email notifications that have been sent by the system.)

We thank you for your patience. If you need help with your proposal, or your Author/Presenter Management Center link, please email papers@asha.org.

Our Convention Campus

The ASHA Convention will be spread over several facilities this year. The Seattle Convention Center is comprised of two buildings and ASHA will be using both:

  • The Arch building is at 705 Pike Street.
The main pedestrian entrance to Arch is on the corner of 7th Avenue and Pike Street, and the Arch drop-off points are 725 Pike (private/rideshare) and 800 Convention Place (bus).
  • The Summit building is at 900 Pine Street, just over a block away from Arch.
The main pedestrian entrance is on the corner of 9th Avenue and Pine Street, and the drop-off location is on 9th Avenue between Pine Street and Olive Way (private/rideshare and bus).

Some activities will also be held at our Co-Leadership hotels:

  • Hyatt Regency Seattle, 808 Howell Street
  • Sheraton Grand Seattle, 1400 Sixth Avenue

These facilities are not connected, but we will have plenty of guidance on hand to help you get to where you need to go. If you have a mobility challenge, scooter and wheelchair rentals are available trhough Scootaround to help you get around at the ASHA Convention.

Student Volunteers Needed

The student volunteer application will be open from July 12 through September 9, 2024. Current CSD students are encouraged to apply.

Request Function Space for Affiliate Meetings and Events

We hold extra function space during the ASHA Convention to support affiliate organizations that would like to host meetings or receptions in conjunction with our event. Learn more about the guidelines and submit a space request for your group. The deadline for space requests is August 31.

Quiet Study Rooms

Since this year's ASHA Convention falls at the end of the semester when many students and educators are taking or administering exams, we have set aside rooms at our co-leadership hotels for quiet study or testing. The rooms will have wifi and powerstrips to plug in devices, but will not be staffed or monitored.

New! Closing General Session

Gather for the last session of the day on Saturday to recap the best moments of this year’s event with the Convention Co-Chairs. They will then welcome a special keynote speaker to leave you newly inspired as you return home after three days of learning and connecting. Closing out the journey will be a special kick off for ASHA’s 100th Anniversary in 2025.
