The Convention begins with the Opening General Session on Thursday morning, featuring energizing addresses by the ASHA president, Convention co-chairs, and a special keynote speaker.
The ASHA Awards Ceremony celebrates high achievement and excellence in the professions. The awards presented, including the Honors of the Association and ASHA Fellows, recognize members who have contributed significantly to the professions and ASHA. The beloved Annie Glenn Award will also be presented to an individual whose work to raise awareness or advocate for those with communication disorders captures the spirit of Mrs. Glenn.
Receptions and open houses provide time for attendees to relax and connect with colleagues and friends.
Various ASHA Squares and Lounges will be located throughout the Exhibit Hall. Plan to stop by the lounges to chat with ASHA staff and volunteer leaders to learn more about ASHA programs and initiatives.
In addition to over 300 exhibiting companies, the Exhibit Hall offers a number of opportunities to network, including a daily lunch break that provides dedicated time to visit exhibitors and socialize, the Caring Square community service activity and various themed lounges where you can meet ASHA staff and leadership or connect with other members.
A variety of audiology-focused events will take place over the three days of the ASHA Convention. These events are a great opportunity to connect with colleagues in the audiology community.
The virtual Graduate School Fair provides an opportunity for students to talk with communication sciences and disorders (CSD) program representatives about graduate or PhD program goals, curricula, clinical experiences, and opportunities for participation in research, among other topics.
The ASHA Convention isn’t just for seasoned professionals—students can participate in lots of activities, too.
The ASHA Leadership Q&A: A Membership Chat With the Board (formerly the ASHA Member Forum) provides an opportunity for you to meet with the ASHA Board of Directors and staff to learn about organization objectives and initiatives. You are also invited to offer feedback on the direction and activities of the Association.
Some ASHA boards, committees, and councils, as well as affiliate groups, hold meetings during the ASHA Convention. A list of published meetings and activities will be available in the Program Planner and mobile app in November.
ASHA holds extra function space during the ASHA Convention to support affiliate organizations wishing to host related meetings or receptions.
